Thought of the Day

I don't believe in morality, but I believe in ethical conduct as set out by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Ethical conduct = a way of behaving that respects others’ right to be happy".

desperate bidding

long time since i've posted something. i have been too busy bidding on ebay... in the vain hope of getting two bloody tickets for the sought-after live earth concert in july to combat the climate crisis. the line-up is great (including madonna, foo-fighters and many others), but getting the tickets (through a ballott) nearly impossible when 260.000 applied for only 60.000 tickets available. needless to say that in ebay i got outbid in a matter of hours. booohhh! the reason why UK resourced to this peculiar system of allocating tickets is to prevent their misuse, such as sale on ebay. however, after realising that they haven't the right means to control this *illegal* reselling, they decided to contain this lucrative practice by encouraging ebay sellers to devote 20% of their profit to charity. i still find this unfair, as Amanda commented, for true music (and party) lovers.

to console myself, i booked a ticket for the ska-pop lily allen who will perform this july at the sumptuous somerset house. if i am lucky, i may be able to spot chris amongst the fans.
