Thought of the Day

I don't believe in morality, but I believe in ethical conduct as set out by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Ethical conduct = a way of behaving that respects others’ right to be happy".

Sporty Days

It has been a weekend full of sport events, and, spending most of the time with two fifteen-year-old Italian boys and one Italian thirty-year-old man, it is inevitable that I have been dragged into their (typically male) sport passion. So, after the football matches of Friday and Saturday, today we watched the Motor GP, then went and played *pitch and putt* (a sort of mini-golf), at the local park. I came last (boohh!), but by the end of the game my shots have improved a lot, and this is what eventually counts. Then back home to watch the highliths of the Grand Prix.
Next week it will be an even more sport-fucused week with the Italy-Germany game on Tuesday which we will go and see at Bar Italia, a sort of Italian institution in the middle of Soho. Then on Friday we will try to get tickets for Wimbledon. The weekend will conclude itself with the women and men tennis finals and, of course, the World Cup gran finale. BTW--Newspapers read "London hit by a heatwave for five days". I am not sure whether this is good or bad...
