I don't believe in morality, but I believe in ethical conduct as set out by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Ethical conduct = a way of behaving that respects others’ right to be happy".

This is why I go there at least three times a year ...
Montmartre is my favourite area of Paris indeed, for its artistic past. I am reading Man Ray's biography at the moment, which is exactly set there (previously known as Montparnasse), and I love to see how all the artists and influencing personalities in the world of art conveyed here at some point. Peggy Guggenheim, Duchamp, Breton, etc., all passed by here. And before them, Modigliani, Van Gogh, Degas, and many others.
