Thought of the Day

I don't believe in morality, but I believe in ethical conduct as set out by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Ethical conduct = a way of behaving that respects others’ right to be happy".

Becoming a yoga guru?

Here we are again, September time, time to start thinking of my Autumnal evening courses. This period last year, I started an art course which I really enjoyed, but it is relatively far from my work, and so not convenient considering that I go to yoga and Spanish classes as well during the week. There is another course I am interested in: Comparative Religion Studies. This is offered at Birckbeck University, but again, not very handy in logistic terms. Yesterday, my yoga teacher proposed us a Yoga Teaching Training Programme. It lasts 18 months, including some Saturdays and Sundays of the month plus some retreats, for a total of 270 hours. The programme includes philosophy, Sanskrit language, the yoga practice and meditation, didactic and business. It is something I would really enjoy, and got excited at the idea until I read the price: £3000. :o ( It is possible to pay in instalments, which is good. So, now I have to think about it seriously, and I have two choices: 1. Going for it, forgetting all the amazing holiday plans I have for 2006 (and possibly also for 2007). 2. Forgetting the course, and maybe buying the books suggested in the reading list and practicing more frequently at the centre and by myself. ... Hard choice. Any advise? "When you start doing yoga your body is one piece and your mind many pieces. By practising yoga, your body will become more and more fragmented and your mind one piece."

Spend the money on your lovely boyfriend, considering all the great meals he's cooked for you. Possibly a ski trip, or maybe a scooter. Either way, it's the best way to show you care.
