Thought of the Day

I don't believe in morality, but I believe in ethical conduct as set out by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Ethical conduct = a way of behaving that respects others’ right to be happy".

daily life

i haven't been ignoring the blog as such, it's just that i have nothing to report - not publicly at least. my week in italy ran rather uneventfully. i completely lost my voice and got ill while there, but friends and family filled me with love... and food.

i am now absorbed by the new job and redecoration of our flat - spring cleanings are so liberating! we are not planning major changes for now, but we are considering to build a mezzanine floor, which would be rather exciting -- mezzanine = space!

days have become much longer, as i am sure you also noted, and this has injected me more energies, although i still cannot go through the day *untouched* without my usual vitamin boost and at least two sessions a week of yoga.

i cannot leave unmentioned our past weekend - saturday night we went to our front door neighbours' house warming party. we met very nice people, all well-travelled and all with interesting backgrounds! the day after we were invited to Milla's birthday (
our other little neighbour). it was her second birthday and got to spend some time with her and her younger sister Emma. during this domestic weekend, i manage to exchange wallace & gromit for shaun the sheep and gave Milla & Emma to-to-ro^. i believe this is the true sense of neighbourhood - to barter within your community!

^
yes, i mention totoro to each young person i meet as the wickest cartoon ever, but it is - certainly for a toddler.
