Thought of the Day

I don't believe in morality, but I believe in ethical conduct as set out by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Ethical conduct = a way of behaving that respects others’ right to be happy".

what a lovely w/e

i have been spending a lovely w/e so far and wanted to share it with you, friends.

yesterday, i managed to go to yoga without losing my oyster card or similar incidents. good progresses.
afterwards, i joined lofty at the clifton pub for a lovely dinner. i had sword fish and was amazing. we also booked an area for the following w/e - i have invited a few friends to spend an afternoon/evening with us playing risk! the pub manager was very kind and accomodating (he asked us if we needed more tables etc.) the clifton is a lovely pub hidden in the middle of the luxurious residential area of St john's wood - a secret gem.

we walked back home in the rain and we settled on an inflatable bed to watch what's eating gilbert grape?, a lovely and moving story set in a depressing nowhere which the protagonist describes with these words: "endora is like dancing to no music". i could empathise with this situation because it reminded me where i am from (well, the european version of this american village). jonny depp, in all his youth beauty, was not the only attraction of the fim. di caprio (so young!) was brilliant in his role of a mentally retarded younger brother. and juliette lewis very sexy in her role of hippy girl.
this morning i woke up to a lovely breakfast in bed kindly prepared by my lovely boyfriend.

How i spent the rest of this morning? watching 12 episodes of candy candy on yo-tube. it was funny to hear places like the st paul school of london, scotland, chicago and broadway. i think it is then that my fascination for great britain began. how many emotions! and the real treat was to watch the final episode. i probably watched it when i was 10 or so, but could not remember it. over the years i heard all sorts of versions about candy candy's ending: that she went to a remote village to work as a nurse; that she married albert; that she went back to the pony's house (see wikipedia). instead, she goes back toher passionate love (terence - whose charm challenge's depp's one!), who has in the meantime damped that pain of susanna!!!! this really made my day. joy!

and now, back to house work. lofty has decided to do easter cleaning today!
